Publication management made easy
Publishers of virtually any multi-page publication, from product catalogues and magazines to customer newsletters and annual reports, can now benefit from a new low-cost, internet-based management tool following news that Publishing Research Laboratories has announced the global launch of the Intelligent Flatplan.
Purelabs’ managing director, Jon Barrett, explained: “Publishing, in all its form, is a deadline-driven, cost conscious business. Despite these pressures, most publishers have been forced to rely on time consuming, inflexible and error prone flat-planning methods ranging from word processor documents and spreadsheets, to DTP layouts and even hand drawn sketches. The Intelligent Flatplan ends their wait for a simple, low-cost solution.”
The Intelligent Flatplan caught the eye of the Great Ideas in Science and Technology (GRIST) programme which has helped accelerate the project with additional development funding and business growth support from organisations including Canterbury Enterprise Hub, The University of Kent Canterbury, the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) and Merlin Mentors programme.
Jon continued: “The GRIST programme helped speed the Intelligent Flatplan to market, bringing the global launch forward to 13 February 2008 at Publishing Expo, Olympia 2 London. I invite readers to call or register online (www.intelligentflatplan.com) for a VIP stand pass, where they can discuss benefits with existing users, watch demonstrations, road test the product and walk away with launch incentives including a free trial.”
For companies keen to use the Intelligent Flatplan immediately, Purelabs has introduced a Priority User Programme which offers a free 30-day trial and subsidised access during the Beta test phase. Publishers can call or register online.
Jon concluded: “The Intelligent Flatplan’s Rackspace server provides the power and reliability to handle the largest publishing projects, yet the £1 per page, pay-as-you-go pricing also appeals to the smallest publishing teams.”
